Dear Jena/Robin,
On behalf of Remember Africa Inc. Delegation to the White House to brief on the current Africa Trade Legislation on August 4th, 1999, I would like to thank you all for the warm reception that you have reserved to NGOs and especially to Remember Africa Inc.
It was such a pleasure to see the interest and concern that all of you at the White House have developed towards Africa and its people. Thank you so much.
After a long meeting that Remember Africa Inc. White House delegation had this morning with some important members of our Board of Directors, we have decided to put ourselves to work by using all power necessarily important to bring the senate majority and convince them to pass this Bill that is so important to the well being of the business and trading relationships between Africa -USA- World. But mostly important to improve the quality of life for the children and youth of Africa, by recognizing the importance of a sound and formal education and peaceful life. The Senate’s commitment to pass this Bill will ensure that these younger generations are afforded every possible means to better themselves and to improve their standard of living and provide the African markets with a certain level of competitiveness and efficiency.
This will also promote and endorse an educational system equally accessible to all at this beginning of the new millennium where a search of Competitive and Productive Markets with Efficient and Responsible Individuals is still one of the must crucial problems not only for African governments and Businesses, but also for the United States Corporations and Governmental Organizations with the current escalation of High-Technology Industries excessive production in some fields.
Remember Africa Inc.’s platform at this specific moment is to try to response in one voice, by preparing and addressing a note to all people interesting in restructuring and healing Africa.
We will be submitting a letter to all Senators of States to encourage and educate them on the importance of this Legislation. We plan to meet not only with some Congressmen and Women who have helped to vote this Bill, but also we would like to meet with some influencial State and City Officials who might have friends in Senate to sensibilize them on the important issues. And we will send these correspondences to fortune 500 and 100 hundred Companies CEOs who seem to initiate or already have interests in Africa.
We will call upon Ambassadors and African States Representatives at the UN and Countries friends related to Africa for help.
As you may notice, this is a very heavy agenda for a young Organization such as Remember Africa Inc. that does not even yet have funds to finalize its own projects.
And this is where we would like to receive some Financial Assistance from the White House and other Governmental Organizations in order to help us to educate concerned populations and accomplish this difficult task with success.
Also as you mentioned yesterday, time is of the essence. Therefore, we definitely need your immediate assistance to help you to help us and vice versa.
Thank you so much for your collaboration and the work that you have been persuing with dedication for Africa. May God help all of us to finalize with this important issue at this eve of the 21st century.
If this Bill could be passed through Senate, this would definitely be one of the greatest accomplishments at this end of the century.
And no doubt that President Clinton, His Administration and the First Lady Hillary R. Clinton will end up one of the most difficult challenges in the history of the world but more importantly in the history of the Black People and Africa.
Thank you so much for your time and consideration in this delicate matter. God bless America, God Bless Africa.
Sincerely,
Dr. Caroline hoth
